BURLESQUE Movie

So I’ve decided I needed to update my blog, since recently, as you can see.. I've had so much going on these past few months. However I want to spread the news that .. I've recently booked a role in the film Burlesque, I'm excited! haha...the film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 27, 2010. Its about an ambitious small town girl from Iowa (Christina Aguilera) who moved to Los Angeles to peruse her singing and dancing dreams. She ends up working in a Burlesque Club owned by Tess aka (Cher), a former dancer who struggles to keep the club open and decides to give a young girl a chance to become a star.

The film is directed/ co-written by Steven Antin (Troy from the Goonies) and also co-written by Susannah Grant ( The Soloist). This film has already been getting a lot of hype since this is Cher's first movie in over 10 years and Christina's first film ever! Anyways I'm really excited to start working on it in February, its the first role in a huge movie I've booked..hopefully this will get me more work, since film is what I really want to focus on as an actress. I will keep you updated in the near future..promise;) I just wanted to share the information...since I'm so excited and blessed to work with this star cast which includes ( Kristen Bell, Julianne Hough, Dita Von Teese, Stanley Tucci, Cam Gigandet ect.)

JERELL SCOTT- Private Industry Event at One Take Studio

On Oct. 15th another fabulous event took place, that I was more than happy to be apart of as a representive of The Couture House LA. The event took place at One Take Studio www.onetakestudio.com. The theme of the night was "fashion as art" where Project Runway's Jerell Scott showcased his fall 2009 collection on statuesque models. This collection was inspired by many cultures of the world and the uniqueness they hold.
The night had a very "laid back" feel as people sipped their cocktails and oogled the models;) There were performances by Macy Gray where she performed a song for her new album and some of her older hits( my fav!) Gift bags were distributed with facewash and lotions by Murad and some cute undies by Ginch Gonch.

Downtown LA FASHION WEEK 2009 @Geffen Contemporary at MOCA

The runway looks featured his Spring 2010 collection, inspired by society's obsession of Hollywood's celebrities. His glamorous looks were paird by unique headband's from the True Bird Collection created by the lovely and talented Heather and Heidi Palmer. Yacht Shoot for Exotic Adventure & Travel Magazine

I recently styled along with the Couture House Los Angeles for a centerfold in upcoming Winter 2009/2010 issue of Exotic Adventure & Travel Magazine. The mood and concept of this shoot was about a group of fabulously successful young professionals taking off for an excursion to Catalina for their very own Mediterranean escape on a beautiful 82 foot Sun seeker yacht.
We used a Yacht docked down at Newport Harbor called "Blue Steel" and took it out for photos (which were taken by Efren Beltran, www.efrenbeltran.com). The models used were reped by Sillis Agency..oh they were lovely with a very classic look. We kept the wardrobe very upscale and timless using design's from Maria Bianca Nero, Nina Austin, Betinnis, Alberto Makali, Vikki Lyns, Duncan Quinn, and Banana Republic. Audra & Sean took care of the fabulouse updos and are represented by Studio DNA (
www.studiodnasalon.com) All in all it was a relaxing day, I mean who wouldnt want to spend their days "working" on a 82 ft Yacht? ha

Behind the Scenes Shoot for Exotic Adventure & Travel Magazine

This past week I styled under Devon Poer owner of the Couture House Los Angeles for the centerfold of the winter issue of Exotic Adventure & Travel Magazine. As far as the theme of the shoot went, we were trying to capture the essence of a young rich, sophisticated couple on a getaway vacation in the hills of Orange County. To capture this what better place to shoot other then The Orange County Mansion. When we finally arrived at the home after our 10 minute drive up the never ending rocky road, my jaw dropped and I was speechless. This house was beyond ridiculous! A circle driveway with a fountain and two huge lion statues greeted me as we walked into the house. This home I can't even start describing (it would take to long)..all I can say is EVERY piece of furniture in the home was...Versace. Anyways...we used two sexy models Tenley & Robert from Ford, awesome make-up artist Kimberlee Barlow ( Kimberlee Barlow.com) and hair stylist Daven Mayeda ( Daven Mayeda.com). Some wardrobe was pulled from L.A.'s showroom Chic Little Devil but most of the clothing in the shoot was designed from Project Runway's Finalist Jerell Scott ( Jerell Scottdesign.com) The long and tiring shoot went on from 12pm to about 9pm but it was all worth it, you can get a copy of the shoot in Exotic Adventure and Travel Magazine coming out this October at a Borders or Barns & Nobles near you;)

So this week I styled a hilarious pilot (can't release the name yet!!) with an awesome & hard hitting cast, crew, and director. Most of our cast starred in the the TBS Show "10 Items or Less" ;). This was the second pilot I have styled and I am loooving it! The characters consisted of three guys and a chick all with very different personalities and styles.

Make-up was provided by first an amazing artist, Belinda Pan under Polaris Cosmetics you can check out their company website at www.polariscosmetics.com. We also had a freelance make up artist aka Sarah Michael, who came to L.A. all the way from San Fran to help out! You can check out her work at http://www.modelmayhem.com/1075651. Payless Becomes FIERCE

CHRISTIAN SIRIANO DEBUTES LINE FOR PAYLESS

Project Runway's most popular winner Christian, has created a chic and affordable collection of shoes for Payless stores. This collection was created after his sophomore show at New York Fashion Week for fall 2009. “I have a pretty huge fan base, not to toot my own horn,” Siriano said. “But a lot of those are Project Runway watchers and they’re young. They’re in school and aspiring to be artistic and they can’t afford my clothes.”Well Christian did what any smart and upcoming designer would do and created a back to school collection for his younger fans. Christian's designs are surprisingly edgy with a chic vibe. These shoes are something I never thought Payless would carry. However these budget friendly shoes will find a way into my closet this fall. Christians line run about $25-$45 a pair and will be available at Payless starting Fall 2009

The Couture House Los Angeles 1100 Wilshire Shoot

These are a few pictures from my first photo shoot this past July as an assistant stylist at The Couture House Los Angeles. The shoot's theme was rich bitch in Los Angeles. As you can see the shoot took place on the roof of an amazing loft building in downtown. I learned so much working with an amazing team consisting of Devon Poer the owner of The Couture House Los Angeles, photographer Robert Valenzuela, Sillis Models, and Studio DNA hair & make-up.

Im With the Band

So as I posted earlier the 80's are coming back for the fall season, which is good because they are gonna go hand in hand with the MARCHING BAND JACKET. This jacket has gone from geek to chic after being spot on the runways and recent red carpets. The marching band jacket is similar to the military jacket except its got a few more bells and whistles. These little extras aka the finer details consist of piping, elaborate buttons, and braiding which complete the jacket.

DESIGNER INSPIRATIONS

Stylesight FALL 2009/2010 Runway Looks:
My Designer favorites are Valentino, Dior,Armani Prive & Julien Fournier..
I've been obsessed with the whole look and feel of the barely there colors and illusions these designers have chosen for their collections. Dior has pushed the envelope with "underwear styled as outwear". Corsets, sheer skirts, opera-lengthened gloves, furs, extravagant hats, velvet pants and leather are what's in. These amazing designers have carefully crafted pieces of sheer lace, tulle and netting to create an chic bedroom look for the streets.

The Truth Behind the Beauty Trend

I have decided to try the latest beauty trends that I have seen popping up everywhere to give you my results and the truth behind each one:

The first thing that I tried was the popular...

EYELASH EXTENSIONS

Eyelash extensions claim to give you a semi-permanent quick fix to longer, darker, and sexier eyelashes. The extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. These single strands are available in varying lengths and thickness. They are applied to your individual eyelashes, one lash at a time. The prices for these lashes range anywhere from $150-$400 on average. I knew that this procedure was going to be pricey but i wanted to try them anyways, so I went to a beauty salon in Burbank,Ca to try this trend out. Well to cut to the chase my experience went exactly like this:
  1. I laid on eyelash table
  2. Eyelash expert taped my eyes closed
  1. With tweezers she picked up each individual synthetic eyelash and with some kind of glue, pasted each false lash to each of my individual lashes
  2. 2o min later she went back and made sure my lashes looked "naturally long"
  3. I continued to lay on eyelash table with a fan in my face to dry the glue
  4. Another 15 min later she came back made sure they were dry and ta-da! The immediate result, some instantly gorgeous eyelashes just like this pic!

RESUL
T:
I was very impressed at first. I had long, beautiful eyelashes that lasted a few weeks. I loved my eyelashes so much that I decided to keep them, this meant however that go back and get them filled in the spots where some fell out on my lid every two week cha ching! After spending a few hundred dollars in a month or so I decided that this wasn't for me after all. Well the sad day did come when I had to go and get the eyelashes removed. With no warning they put a nasty smelling liquid on a q-tip and rubbed it on my eye. Once the fake eyelashes were gone and my eyes finally quit burning from whatever the remover was, I looked in the mirror and to my HORRIBLE surprise I had less than half the amount of natural lashes than when I had walked in to that beauty shop a few months ago! So now not only did I have my natural boring eyelashes back but i pretty much had none of them left. In conclusion it took a few weeks to grow my natural lashes back the way they were originally and to top that off, I was now more broke than before I started this intense beauty routine. Did i love the way the eyelashes looked while they lasted those few weeks.. yes! Would I get these lashes again or recommend anyone else to try them..HELL to the NO!
BOTTOM LINE: Nice for a week but not worth the price, upkeep, or lack of lash
es afterword. So please stick to mascara and cheap glue-on lashes!
